Shirt Fabric Samples

An infinite variety of shirt fabrics and cloth samples from all over the world.

There are many varieties of cottons that are used to construct the specially tailored business shirt commonly referred to as the Oxford shirt. Although specifically referring to the type tailored from Oxford cloth, the tailored business shirt worn by men consists of woven cloth with a full length buttoned opening down the front with a button down or cutaway collar (we have many styles and samples to choose from).

Colours

Blue and white are considered to be the classic colours with white being the most conservative, largely worn by the professional. Light blue is known as the television look as white can appear too distracting in studio lighting conditions, which can make suits and ties appear darker. Light blue tends to bring out the best in facial tone and skin pigment.

Whether you are a businessman or just someone who takes pride in what they wear, the popularity of handmade bespoke shirts is on the rise for those who have not only an eye for fashion, but also an appreciation of the craftsmanship that, the tailored look presents.

When in the process of choosing shirt colours it is important to get it right and it is the first element that is noticed with a dress shirt.

Whether your choice is to stand out or blend in, it is essential that you know what colour shades complement you and how these same colours frame you.

Choosing the right shade

To be succinct, you either fall into the category of a high contrast complexion where your hair colour is a stark contrast to your skin tone e.g. fair skin with black hair. Therefore, you will look great with a light or lighter colour shirt in a dark suit with a bold colour tie.

Males of fair complexion i.e. light skin and light hair as well as bald men, are recommended to stick with dark blues and earth tone dress shirts combined with dark suits.

And then there are medium complexions, males who don't fall into either category. They are either brown skinned men with dark hair, or lighter skinned men with grey or white hair. Medium complexion males can utilize high contrast combinations and can also adapt monochromatic colour combinations, enjoying the best of both worlds, but should not venture too far in one direction or the other.

As previously mentioned, we are professional craftsmen and we can tailor a formal or casual bespoke shirt to your specifications, utilizing the finest cottons and linens in up to a thousand patterns.
